Is it possible to bore a 426 to a 440+30 over bore? I have a 426 block and a set of slightly used +30 440 pistons on the shelf. If possible I would like to use these pistons
Thanks, Alex

I wouldn't try it. That would be a .100" overbore. Probably not enough meat on the cylinder walls and a grenade waiting to happen. There is also the risk of overheating problems due to the thin walls.

The only way to know for sure is to have it sonic checked for bore thickness. If you can end up with .150 or more of wall thickness on all 8 thrust sides you should be fine. Some of the old 413/426 blocks will take it.

Or you could just trade the 426 block for a 440 one...I am sure someone would trade you cough cough
