Not Eagle but i ran the Mopar cast in my 416,taking it to 7000 rpms several times with no issues, they were $400 when i built mine i think you can get them cheaper now..by the way the 416 made 520 h.p. and 500 lbs of tq...

how long did that motor last? just curious

Motor lasted 2 seasons until a ROD BOLT SNAPPED!!! ARP too...

yea right 2 seasons how many pases? the cheap SIRS you put in there is what broke. that and the 7000 rpms

Hey,you can think what you want..but thats the conclusion my engine builder came up with, and his oppinion is a LOT more important then yours, yes 2 seasons i have a "REAL" engine builder, not someone that just puts engines together like so many do..not his fault the bolt let go either..

have you ran this crank????? can you give me input????? i see them on ebay for 265.00 can they take 500hp??? 7000rpm thanks guys mopar or no car!

I really can't see why you'd need to turn 7K rpm to make 500 ponies with a 4 inch arm!!!

My first question would be application?

I have 2 friends; very respected, very successful NHRA SST racers who ran the 4 inch cast cranks, one with W-2's, the other with W-5's, Transbrake 904's, both over 132 mph on the stop at 10.90 and 2900lbs. They each broke 2 of the cast cranks, at between 150-250 passes, before moving on to forged units.

Street car, moderate rpms and compression, no problem, but in a serious race engine, that's not a place to save 300 bucks.

sure he's going to say that , he suggested them and told you they would be fine. you didn't tell us how many passes in the 2 seasons you made.

Hey smarty pants,he was actually AGAINST me using them and when it was determined it was a rod bolt and not the rod he was surprised as anyone.. as for the number of passes i really don't know..

thats not what you told us when you first came on here. you said the builder told you they were good for your HP. it doesn't matter Im just ragging you but I still bet the rod broke first. got any pics of the the rod and bolts?

At the end of the day will you regret spending the money for the forged? Unlikely. Could you say the same for the cast version? You pays your money and you takes your chances. Buy the forged, get quality parts and machine work done and concentrate on winning
