The complete rules for the SuperCar ShootOut can be found at www.SuperCarRaces.com .
Basically we run the same rules as F.A.S.T. but the big difference is, No stand alone traction control allowed in the class. Many of the cars that run in F.A.S.T. don't run Traction Control, but some do.
In the SuperCar ShootOut, we run Factory Appearing Cars, along with Pure Stocks. The cars all qualify, then we run quick eights and two out of three match races. We run heads-up with a pro tree.
Our website also features complete records of each racers and combo, documenting best ET's, MPH's. We also feature recaps of all our events.
We Feature a couple more classes at our events. Outlawed A/FX, Vintage Pro Stock- these classes are exhibition. And, very cool to watch.

I know of no F.A.S.T cars that use traction control and I know all the drivers and race with them myself. It has been tried by a few a couple years ago and dosn't work.A electronic fuel injected car could be made to use one effectively but not with a carb.
I quoted the August 2009 issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines that stated in the "Top 10 FAST Tricks: Traction Control. Yes,some of them use it".
Hemmings is known to be a very reputable publisher, who's editors pride themselves on up-to-date and correct facts and details in all their articles.
I can only attest for ALL the Racers featured on the SuperCar ShootOut Records pages and the 28 current racers competing in the 2009 SuperCar ShootOut Points Series that have been teched and follow our rules.
I am not concerned with what is done by fast. I am only concerned that the SuperCar ShootOut Rules Committee we have in place uses the SuperCars Philosophy that we formed the series on and live by.
Steve good luck with your choice and if you have an issue with the information regarding the use of traction control, please talk to Hemmings about it.
SuperCars Philosophy:
S- Showcase All that participate in the SuperCar ShootOut U- Unite and make friendships that last a life time P- Persevere to be the best E- Empower others to act with integrity R- Reward all accomplishments big and small C- Celebrate victories A- Actively participate in giving back to the community R- Respect and treat everyone like they're one of us

What cars use traction control?
Brian, I have no idea and don't care. I can only vouch for you and the others that have competed in the SuperCar Series that have all been teched.
I would talk to Hemmings about who has it and who doesn't.
In fast its not an issue to use Traction Control so why would they look for it or be concerned about it.

Just curious. I knew of quite a few that had tried it, no one that actually got it to work consistantly. We don't have to worry about it though, smallblocks don't make enough power to need it.... Have fun this weekend.

I know your dad is not available. But maybe you can come with the AAR this weekend?
Brian thanks for your concern. See you soon if not this Saturday maybe on the 18th when we visit LVD for Gear Heads in the Valley to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation.

Looks great, Clouds are breaking up. We don't expect any sun. Currently it is a cool 65 degree with a tailwind.
