What do they use for a tailstock when they have a 727 in a rear engine dragster?
Thanks

Never heard of one in a dragster, why would you do that?

I wouldn't. I don't have a dragster. I just want to know if there is a real short tailstock or if they use a plate like a glide with no tailstock for that application. I want this for my pull tractor.

My buddy run one in his dragster, It was changed over for a glide after i acquired it. It had a factory shorty tail shaft, that was used in some truck or van applications.

I have a tailstock from a motor home that is reasonibly short but it has the bolt on yoke and that limits how I connect to the rearend. That is why I'm looking for other options.

The bolt-on yoke allows hooking directly to the rear end with a single u-joint.

How SHORT do you want to go ?

I have a front-engine dragster and I want to go as short as possible.

One of these aftermarket shortie kits(I have a couple of these both early and late 727's) ...with a Mark Williams male and female coupler(trans to rear end) is the ticket.

That piece in the bottom of the pic is the male(trans) end. I will try and find the pic of the female part.

I am not aware that B&M offered a coupler.. just MW.

That's commonly called a "Greek coupler" some say because it was pioneered by Chris Karamesines but some of us know the real reason.

Sorry for the misunderstanding Eric. I wasn't talking about the coupler. I was talking about the short tailstock in the picture. That would work perfect for me.
