Is there any quick way to test a speaker to see if its shot?. The stereo in my truck hasn't worked for years, and after I installed a new one my front left speaker isn't playing. I swapped the outputs from the deck and the front left played fine through the right speaker. I'm about to just bring it in and get a new setup all together, but I'd like to troubleshoot more before I start forking over $.

Also, if the speaker is shot, I've got a 97 volvo with perfectly good speakers in it. I don't know much about compatability, but if the amps are the same wouldn't that work?

on the 1994+ Ram pickup door speakers
common faults are

broken wires black rubber conduit that spans the hinge of the door,

bad amplifiers (these are attached to the speakers themselves)

Go very carefully on removing the door panel from the door,
and have extra C-clips on hand, because you almost always break a few. The clips are available at most auto parts franchise stores

if you don't have an electrical wiring diagram
many Public Libraries have the 'EBASCO HOST' automobile database available for free and it has Ram wiring charts that list the color codes on each wire

good luck
