Hello again all-knowing Moparts members! Yet another question for everyone. I tried looking this up on the search forum but was unsuccessful.

My dad is putting together 68 'Net with a 383 and went against my advice and bought a Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition Kit with a chrome box. I printed off all the info on this website as far as install instructions, and the install seemed to be good. The engine started, for a couple seconds, then died. The same thing happened again, started and died, and wouldn't start. Battery was dead ALREADY!!! Chrome module was HOT along with the wires. Any suggestions???? I hooked it up like it said, what could be the problem?? This resto has been a nightmare for my dad and I feel terrible he is almost done and wanting to sell it and all this nonsense and is real real down about it. Any help would be amazing. Thank you everyone

Yeah printed out the whole thing off this site! Had my meter out checking voltage and checked his resistor for correct spec and everything. But there has to be something I am missing. I hooked up my duster like 8 years ago with that system and had no problems. But on the other side of the spectrum I didn't have anything to troubleshoot so I really don't know what to look for.
