I was looking to see which of my project cars needed front bumper brackets and when I looked at my early build 70 Challenger R/T I noticed it had a metal brace between the front bumper brackets. It looked factory, but I don't know why it would be needed and none of my other cars had one on it. I don't think the car had front bumper gaurds on it. It was dark in the barn and I don't have a picture yet. Anyone seen one before?

If you are talking about a heavy metal "liner" that is behind the chrome bumper and reaches from one bumper bracket across to the other, I believe those were on later model challengers, part of the government mandated 5 mph stuff. See if your outer chrome bumper has the small vertical bumper jack slots. If it does it isn't a 70 model bumper. A lot of things can get changed in 40 years!
