rowin4 master Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 6,257 gulfport, ms, west mi	I put one on my aluminum cell just to appease the ignorant tech guy. It's bolted to the chassis, no ground strap needed. it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

Section - Fuel cells - and show them. They will have to let it pass. I had to do that with a page from National Dragster when there was a mid-year change in the rules a few years back on "NOS bottle heaters". (which ARE allowed as long as they are thermostatically controlled and unmodified from the manufacturers design).

Locomotion master Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 5,894 Florida	The cap and assembly it goes into usually has metal in it. So, if nothing else is metal, that may still need to be grounded. On a metal tank, that assembly could be insulated from the rest by the gaskets!

HaHA (where is a "knee-slap" smilely??) Yes that is the exact wording, and the exact meaning is intended to help reduce the chances of a static spark. Therefore, the metal trim ring on the cap assembly should be grounded.
