How much total timing do you run?

Thanks

Jeff

Mines been real happy with 31 degrees. Gonna bump it up to 35 and try it next time out, but I don't expect much / any improvement.

Fastest 300

34-36 seems about right for me.

Thanks guys

My Mopar electronic dist has about 25 degrees advance so I'll try 10 initial and 35 total.

You'll probably find it wants more initial advance. My 408 has a msd dist with 18 degs of advance- with 35 total it still wants more initial. I'm thinking about getting an aftermarket bushing to let me run more initial with the same total...

Mine seems happy with 21* initial and 34* total.

I'm hoping it will idle ok at 10 degrees initial.

I may need to get a different distributor.

what cam do you have? whats the specs? if its anything over 240 @ .050, you need at least 18 initial. it wont idle right

The msd distributor is great but if you are handy you can weld up the slot in your stock dist. to limit centrifugal advance. There is a chart floating around here somewhere if you search. I went through all this and had to learn fast- I knew NOTHING about all this stuff when I dove in not too long ago. Try searching for my posts on this stuff- the help I got can help you.

Or just spend the money on the pro billet. The only downside is the lack of vac. advance if you want max gas mileage. Other than that it is really easy to install and tune.

Good luck
