May convert to 4spd in my 71 Charger,using one of the complete kits they have out.
Can I use my factory A/T console,or do I need to go with a 4spd consol?

You can't use an auto console without modifying it - the tunnel/hump is different 4spd. to auto. Someone sells a template on ebay for it to cut the base of the console - believe a member/s here do also. Not too hard as I understand as long as you're patient. Top plate is different also - though not sure myself if the auto would effect the function if your auto top plate is in good shape and didn't want to spend the coin on a new top plate. If I didn't have my #'s match transmission I'd be doing it myself - would love a 4spd. - good luck - Joe

not just the base of the console is diff also the top plate ( dunno how much diff is, but it is ).
