I have a '64 Dart 4-door that originally came with a /6. On these early cars I was under the impression that I could use the same K-member and just use sm block engine mounts. But after reading the '64 Belvedere post, I'm not so sure??

Would I need to change the K-member to go with a 318/360?

Jimmy

no need to change your kmember. His is a B body which the /6 and V8 use a different kmember

You might start searching for a V8 "dropped link" center steering link, you know what mounts you need and even the /6 insulators (like the one in the pic)will work w the V8 mounts. If iron manifolds either a set of 64-66 273 logs (which are very restrictive) or a set of pricey 340 HP ex manifolds will work w manual steering but the steering coupler housing may need to be shortened to clear the inside bend on the DR manifold. What carb & what throttle linkage do you have planned? EDIT this will be an A body 64-66 273 V8 "dropped" center link

Not sure what to do about the throttle linkage. Other than the stock carb and mounts, I'm not sure what will work with it? (did the 64 barracuda with 273 have the same type throttle linkage?) I would like to go with a 4bbl. Do you have any suggestions?

The 8 cyl. 64-'66 A-bodies used a totally different pedal and cable type linkage. This was also used on some A/C equipped /6 cars.
