The little vent handle that moves the glass in or out...do you keep that on while chroming or should I remove? From what I see there is some kind of pin on that thing which would need to be tapped out to remove.

Also, when doing re-assembly of the two big vent frame pieces...I've seen various discussions on here about peening the remaining rivet posts, or doing various other things to re-attach the two together. Has anyone tried dropping some JB Weld into the existing holes to bond the two together?

I removed the pins on mine by tapping them out with a small nail. I did snip the pointed end off first.
