No specs on the motor, Probably a pretty mild 383, big car and Boise is an NHRA factored track. AKA its at altitude. My car lost 4 tenths between Seattle and Boise. According to NHRA the factor is .9679 to convert the time to sea level.

12.2 x .9679 = 11.80

Maybe so, I didn't think the factor would be that much.

513 seem like a pretty deep gear unless the tires are more than they look in the oic.

That car's been for sale for years, don't know if it's the same owner. It's at the Portland Swap Meet every time I go, IIRC. It's clean, but has wavy bodywork.

12.20's isn't wrong. It's the $17,500 to get a car that runs 12.20's. THAT is WRONG!!

Even if it DOES go 11.80's @ sea level, he's high. (high on the price, too... )

He's thinking that there's something in the rarity of the car. If the bodywork is bad he may be mistaken on that as it's expensive and/or time consuming to fix. You can get a 95 Mustang V-8 for a song and a dance and make it run that number for less than 5 grand total but then when it's all said and done you have a common, run of the mill racecar that's about worthless.
