Finally a HUSKER again
Ok, first off this isnt race related, but you guys are pretty damn sharp so here it is. I rebuilt a magnum 5.9 for a farmer friend of mine who restores old equipment. I put the 5.9 in a combine as the 318 was just dead. It runs good, and runs a draft style big 2bbl carb with no accelerator pump. Its got a mechanical governor on it, and it boggs when the engine combine wants more RPMs. I told the guy not to run it until I get there to set everything for him, he did not listen to me at all. Has it running, and I need to tune it for him. He hasnt set timming or anything. SOOOOOOOO,, what would be a good initial timming for a stock magnum 360 that will NEVER get over 3000 rpm. The governor locks it out of any more RPM than that.

I was thinking of setting it in the 10-12 initial timming, but want a few sugjestions.

Set initial for about 16 so it will idle properly and
32-34 total
