What do you mean by 'alternatives'? Other sellers of asian made parts? There are several with varying degrees of how much work is done stateside. Some of the companies like 440source do all the work overseas where some others do everything overseas except the final finishing work in the US. Then there are others who do everything in the US. Price goes up each notch you go towards US work. Are you honestly looking for alternatives or are you just looking to ?

Sorry. $1499 for crank, rods, and pistons. They may have just changed that price, because now, I can only find this:
In EVERY kit, we include everything you need, crank, rods, pistons, pins, locks, Clevite main bearings, Clevite rod bearings, Total Seal file fit moly rings, AND precision final balanced, all for just $1897!!

Yeah, this could become a good reference thread as long as the about vendors stays away... List all the parts options here, then let folks search teh threads as-needed for quality reports.
Parts I seek:
driver doorpanel, 65 Sport Fury, prefer black, needs to be 7-8 on 10 scale, might buy set
16" x 6" Dodge truck wheel(s), from early 70s?, takes 9" dogdish - need for a research job so cheaper is better.
69-73 C-body caliper brackets and/or splashields
Send a PM.

Some of us guys don't mind spending an extra few $$$ to upgrade parts. How much more is the upgrade from a K.B. piston to a better one. Thankyou

One more thing to add here and I hope most of you will agree with me. What bank loaned you money when the others rejected you? Which girl first said yes to you're asking her out on a date while others said no? How many times has the guys on Moparts dropped what they're doing to look up something or help you with a question that no one else had the answer to? I could go on with various examples to make my point, but it is simply this: While the other engine kit builders were getting bookoo Bucks for thier stroker kits, 440source.com came on the scene with great products, reasonably priced kits, and for those of you on a budget or don't have a machine shop in your area to balance the rotating assemblies they also offer that as well at a reasonable price. I don't forget those Moparts sponsors who have helped our hobby, while also forcing thier competitors lower thier prices to match 440source. For the record, i've never heard anything negative about Hughes and I understand they enjoy a well deserved good reputation as they too have contributed alot to advance our hobby.

The most common aluminum bigblock heads are: Edelbrock RPM, Victor, Victor M/W 440 Source Stealth Mopar Performance StgVI Indy - Several versions of their heads to choose from. Brodix B1, B1bs, B1ts, etc. Stage V - Hemi conversion head. Preditor? (sorry, don't know too much about these?) FWIW, my 500" stroker kit from 440 source came with Keith Black forged pistons, and I bought my Edelbrock Victor M/W Heads and Indy intake from Hughes Engines. I have had good customer service at both vendors, and have used several of the Hughes Engines cams/lifters/spring sets in several engines. Both companies also have very good and informative web suites.

OK then ... at what point do you take-their-word that the parts are "right" ?
With a complete engine or transmission ? .. or do you have to take-it-apart and check EACH and every-one of those individual parts?

That head is but a myth, sadly perpetuated in the magazines and sometimes on this forum. Out ov production years and years ago. If it still existed, i'd have a hemi in my car right now.
Too bad, it was a good idea.

Seen the site, E-mailed the company, snail-mailed the company, got the brochures, called and talked to the man hisself. More than once. Those heads dont exist. And if they decided to make 'em again, i WILL kill somebody.

Good part combination, North American made, at fair price and a great place to get the word out. That's why this Board is so great.
