Ok guys

Heres a hypothetical, lets say you have a certain b body that weighs 3860 with a mildly built 440 engine hooked to a 727 transmission with 2500 stall torque converter, and lets say for the sake of argument it has 3:23 gears and it goes 14.0 in 1/4 mile. 28 inch tall tires

What kind of gain in ET will be seen in going to 3:91 gears, same tires?

I think with a 28 tire and 3.91...it all gonna be a plus

Based on one of my old cars, a lighter 3400 Scamp, mild 440, same converter as you, 3.91 gears. Ran 13.4@104 on 225/14 street tyres.
I reckon 13.8.

If hooking up is not a problem you can try going to a 27" tire too.

I would guess in the 13.5 range maybe a tad better.

Since I saw a .2 ET difference between 3.55 and 4.10 gears (no MPH change), I'll say 3.23 to 3.91 will make a similar improvement.
