Dyno got postponed until this thursday if nothing changes. 500, 10.5 to 1. 440-1 heads. My cam is RX296R-8 Lift .692,.694. 263/270 at .050. 108C/L. Timing at .020 (IN. 24-59) (EX.63-27).I am running 4000 stall, 4:30 gears, 28.5 tires. Trans is 2.48,1.48,1.00 with .74od. OD will be used for highway only. What will it do to torque/hp curve timing at say 106 compared to 108 or 110. Thanks Galen

The more you move the centerline ICL away from the 106, the low end torque will decrease. IMO the torque/HP curve will remain about the same but will just happen at a slightly higher rpm.

But with the 106 ICL favoring the torque and the 110 favoring the HP. With your mild 10.5 comp and 440-1 heads I would bet the 106 to 108 ICL would be the sweet spot for your combo. With 106 being the overall best IMO mike

Advancing the cam two degrees is suppose to increase the botom end and take a little away from the top end power. I would probally advance it more like 3 or 4 degrees, that would be more nticeable at the track or on a engine or chassis dyno. I have changed the cam timing on motors at the track and on a engine dnyo, none of them liked the cam retarded or even straight up Three to five degrees advanved seem to get the best results as far as HP and torque. On a stick car you can sometimes go faster killing bottom end so it deosn't spin as bad, automatic cars are different animals

Thanks, I can get it right at 104,105 with my gear drive. I will lock it down. Cab thanks for the insite, I have always run a 4 speed car and you are right it ran the best 2 degrees retarded. This whole automatic/ stall convertor thing is new to me. Should be interesting though!!
