i am restoring my first mopar and i am trying to find a little info on my 69 bee.

i was told by the previous owner that it is a fairly rare car, it has F6 bright green paint and the A39 spring special option. it also has the A31 performance axle package.

the build sheet shows it has T87 f70-14 raised white letter tires. would anybody know what brand of tires these would be? i would like to restore the car with these tires if they are being reproduced.

would anybody have any information on these options and possibly any idea on production numbers produced?
i am looking forward to seing how the end product will look when completed. i seems like a odd combination. bright green paint, white vinyl top and bee stripes, black interior with the ramcharger scoops blacked out.

thanks and i love this site,
mike

Welcome aboard!!

Spring special Super Bees are very neat cars!! The tires would be Goodyear Polyglas F70-14 w/o the size in RWL. Moparts member "SmallHurst" sells the reproduction GOODYEAR tires. Auto or 4-spd? One item that is often missed is the "RAMCHARGER" scoops are painted black.

& where are the pics??

Nice car. I have a few spring special bees. My survivor was featured in the Aug 05 issue of mopar collector's guide. PM me, maybe we can exchange some info.

Restoring a car to look "only" as good as the factory made it is like getting a boob job for your wife and having the doctor make them two different sizes to seem more natural

The A39 Spring Special came with the T85 or T87 (T87 is the Firestone Wide Oval raised white letters (coker tire makes them)), V1# (vinyl top), J25 (3 speed wipers), J45 (hood pins), N96 (fresh air carburation), and V21 (performance hood treatment (organosol black scoops)).

My A39 came as Y2 yellow ext, F8 green int, and V1T tan vinyl top. It was a true V08 car.

Nice color combo.... A buddy of mine had a 70 Charger Bright Yellow with a Green Vinyl Top & Tan Leather Interior... I didn't think anyone but the guy that special ordered the Charger & signed the factory waiver for the "Not Reccomended Color Combo" would like those three colors together enough to order a car that way... In fact when my buddy bought the car there was paper work with the car from when is was ordered showing the dealer required a $700.00 non-refundable deposit to order the car because they felt they wouldn't be able to sell it to anyone else... Fact is when my buddy bought the car the top had been dyed black... And the car looked pretty normal... Today someone would be sure to restore it back to it's original combo...

You will NEVER find an original RWL Firestone on a '69-'74 MOPAR!!

MOPAR 1969-'72 RWL was exclusively GOODYEAR!! KELSEY TIRE

thanks for the warm welcome and response guys,
at this time i am trying to do my research on this project before i start the restoration.

it amazes me the color combinations that could be ordered back then. very different than how things are done nowadays.

here is a decode of the build sheet that was done by the previous owner.

very nice car gtsuperbee. looks like b5, that is one of my favorite colors. i will have to keep in touch as i am sure i will have some questions in the future.

this project has been especially challenging because it had been completly dissasembled by the previous owner for a resto that interest was lost.

would anybody know where the fresh air cable exits the firewall going to the ramcharger assembly? and on the hood pins there is a cable coming from the clips. i understand this attaches to the radiator support, does anybody know where this is attached?

Thanks for the correction. 20+ years ago I read it was either Firestone red lines or wide ovals. I pretty much took them at their word. The owner's manual, the service manual, and the dealer's brochure do not mention brand, just size and style.
