I think anything you find on top end will be negated by a loss in the 60'. That car works exceptionaly well in the first 1/8 mile, which is normally where a weak converter shows up most.... I would not screw with it, I think 9 times out of 10 you are probably going to slow car down with a verter change IMO.
The converter that's in the car now wont be touched so I can go back to the origional combo if needed, I am going to give this guy a try, he tell's me he can make it better, you don't learn nothing if you don't take a chance once in a while, just like I tryed another cam and that didn't make an improvement so I went back to the one you speced for me origionally.

Ryan,won't be doing anything untill after Norwalk, but I have to try, or I wont be happy and will always question it, one thing about it if it don't work I can still get most of my money back out of it, and don't take me wrong I do understand what you are saying, for what I have it does run quite well, and I am quite pleased with it. Dan, I hear what you are saying, and if it does hit the tire harder and give me some traction issues, then that is more incentive to add a little (lot) more tire to the rear, like I have been thinking of doing anyway.

Us as racers get way too caught up in the "size" of the converter. There is so much more than the size of the converter and its relation to what it does in our cars. A 9 inch that stalls at 5k is going to have different characteristics than an 8 inch that stall at 5k. Stator, fin angle all come into play and directly effect the stall and more importantly the top end efficiency.
Personally in a bracket car I like my converter a little on the loose side. I will loose some ET but gain a bunch of consistency.
I would call around and speak to every company you want to, and see which one speaks to you the best and you form the best working relationship with. Keep them and continue to use them unless you have a reason not to. Personally I have been going with BTE for the past 8 years or so, I like how I am treated, I like what they have done for sportsman bracket racing and I like the people running and building the converters. Are they the best? Depends on what you define best with........
Your converter is (IMO) the single most important piece of the puzzle to make all cars perform their best.
good thing somebody likes BTE. they couldn't fix anything i sent them.

Bill, looking at your numbers, you seem to have the car running as good as it can(you have it optimized)your 60 foot for a car that generally runs in the low 10's is as good as anybody's i have heard of.
based on what i see, if you want to go faster i would put a set of indy heads on it and be done with it. Your MPH isnt indicitave of the car Et going much further you have a good working setup that is giving you all it has on tap, IMO. i would be shocked if a convertor swap picked you up anything.
