One of the best things I have done. I did have to trim the support both side to side and the amll lip at the top the goes toward the rear of the car. I had to do that to move the Rad/fan combo forward so it didn't hit the WP. Took all of 10 minutes and then made some mounts and has been great.

Oh
I have the fan on the front side of my radiator and it is a pusher now.
It works Great and fit in the space with only little mods done.
This is on a B body though.

I will look through my notes as I know I checked it and if not, I will tomorrow after work. The thing moves a ton of air and is so quiet.

I'm watching this with great interest.

I only have about 2 5/8" between my rad, and my MECHANICAL waterpump.

Anyone fit one in an A-body with a mechanical wp?

I have one on my 94 and love it. Cools in the Hot Houston Summer Heat! And it is pretty quiet too!

I got mine from Rock Auto (online) for about $55 shipped.

A word to the wise, i was given by a member here. With anything close to a stock charging system , the HHR fan will flat eat up a battery in a mighty short time.
A guy told me he had a 50 amp denso on his car and with that fan, ran out of juice on a sortie on the street one night because of how much juice that HHR eats. That is the only reason i dont currently have one, and just bought a much lower amP draw new fan for my car....aa i have a stock alt, not even as good as his Denso that didnt cut the mustard.
Your results may vary

I don't have a stock alt, but I am going to measure the draw tonight when I get off work. if I remember correctly it drew way less power than most previous fans I have had. Also, since the swap I have noticed zero difference in battery charging or anything electrical related. as mentioned though, like everything on here, your results may vary.

It pulls about 30 amps at startup and 13 amps running
