well drove for 7 hours today to pick up the 63 Dart.. Jason Wood at Wizzard racing in Holden,La custom built me some 2 1/4" headers for the 572ci Indy Maxx...should have her fired up in a day or two...first passes next weekend..YEA!!!!!!!!!!!

well if i finish the car at Cousin's house in Youngsville, la then yes, but may end up using Evadale,Tx closer to me here in lake Charles...there is a big race at Evadale this weekend..but it is 1/8 mile..

going to be very dusty and loud.....

My old NMCA Beretta had similar type headers but they turned out behind the front wheel, keeps the dust and the noise down.

Once they are all set and get racing you going to get them coated some time? Building headers appears to be a real pain in the azz.

well billy i'm guessing you're going to be running your plug leads from the underside huh? these look similar to my first set i made, that shock mount is a total pita being right in the road like that, hence i changed this on my car & made a fresh set of headers with plug access this time. good luck with your racing.

Yea, i am going to get them coated as soon as i can..i will pull them tomorrow and wipe them down and put some high heat paint til i can get them done.. the reason they are not turned back is the master cylinder is right there and i sure dont want that heat all over my brakes !!!!! if i would have tried to 90 degree outward then the wheel would hit the collector..kinda stuck.. should have turned them straight up and popped right throught the hood....lol... the plug wires will be routed below the headers, yes.. i wish i had changed my front shock tower too.. well in 2 years i am going to have a complete CM tube chassis built..this was my first attempt at building a Drag Car...live and learn...

Billy I really like the looks of that car. I like the body style and what you have done with it. I especially like the paint and the fact there are no stickers or anything on it.

Not so sure about the hoodscoop, but thats why its yours and not mine. I just think its a very clean looking car.

Spyphish, where do you live?? you are close to Lake Charles ?? i dont think i will be there at Evadale but my cousin will be in a 91 tube chassis LeBaron(mulit-color) and Brandon in his Red 69 Superbee, Jeremy in a red 66 Cornett, Dalton in a burgandy 68 Baracuda and then some friend in the Brand-X cars...lol.. i will be staying home to try to get my car ready for the following weekend..

Those headers are pretty dang impressive, they remind a little of the old S/S headers on the Ramcharger 63 Dodges back in the day..I like 'em! I was looking at your motor plate and I wondered "where is he gonna mount the vacume pump?"...then seen the bungs welded on the collectors

Well Im going to use the Pany Vac system for now til i get the car running and shake it down..until i go back to work, i cant really afford the vacuum pump..it is taking all i can get to finish the car.. 1350.00 on those headers and still need to buy a driveshaft..but there will be a Aero-quip vacuum pump on this motor...i have the passengerside already off and painted and reinstalled til i can get them coated.. i will post some pics tonight of the new paint on them..they look much better...

The Car and the headers look good, are you going to leave the headers pointed to ground or will you extend them under the chassis.

well i took the headers out and wipped them down and used some High heat paint to hold them until i can get them Coated.. here are the pics..

i also got my new steering wheel and tach mounted as well as the master control panel in the radio slot...

You amt want to rethink where you have the tach mounted unless your planning to mount a shift light on top of the dash.

All looks great! Now I know what a set of big tube custom headers looks like for cars like ours! The thing will fly!
