Jeff the AMD qtrs were just as good, if not better than NOS factory qtrs, very straight, no filler, other than roof seam, and rocker seam, the panels were straight enough for Black with just 4 coats of epoxy base/primer surfacer, blocked out before paint, the qtrs on this car have NO Bondo on them!,......and I didn't get the pick of the "litter" on qtrs either, I got what was left, just a few dings here and there, that I hammered/dollied out before install,........if you take your time to fit them, and work them into place, they fit extremely nice, be SURE to check all fitment of window trim, glass, trunk lid, qtr end caps etc, before finish welding,....I used the Goodmark trunk extensions, they fit good as well, this car was tubbed, fully, so I had other issuse you won't,....the dutchman panel was original, and left in place during the install,.......the only issuse, and very minor at that was the side marker light opening was about an 1/8" wider all around than original,.....I told Mark about this at AMD, it may have been rectified?,....if not, or you get early stock runs of the AMD qtrs, it no big deal, all I did was locate the maker to one corner, I covered the maker in masking tape and applied a very small amount of USB's Metal to Metal filler around the top, and one side of the marker opening to "close" up the hole to "original" sizing,....I prefered the top of the marker, and one side, as it's easier than trying to fill around a "centered" marker, the filler would have been less than 1/16" on the edges, thus haveing the possibility of cracking!, so favor the lower bottom, and rear vertical edge when setting the marker if you have to fill around the edge (approx 1/8"),....some guys cut out their original marker holes when changing their qtrs, and welding them in, too much work!, and a potential area for cracks, esp, if you try and butt weld them in, so as not to be seen!,...not a wise choice going that route

......Hope these are enough pics for ya Jeff!,....sorry I deleted most of the install pics of the AMD qtrs from my computer,....But, they are here on Moparts, perhaps you can search for them,.....I did this Customers car about a 1 year ago,....the original post that I did will be under the A12/resto forum which we are currently in, other members also posted their pros/cons of the AMD install, but IMHO, unless someone "hands" you a set of NOS/FACTORY rear qtrs, the AMD qtr's are just as good if not beter, IMO Mike Mike

AMD sells the support's that go under the area you are asking about. If you left it rusted off then yes their is a hole straight into the trunk.
My 1/4's have been getting to my shop in need of filler and some very much more wavy than others. Still very happy to use them.

Here are a few pix of the 69.5 Pack Runner I also just finished the Amd metal on. I can post pix of the mudd work this week. The charger above is now rotisorary painted and I can post some pix of it with all Amd metal spot welded on a painted car. Jay.Horak@FrankieandDylansCollisionCenter.com
