I found a guy that has a 588ci Hemi... The heads are a set of Dart hemi heads; For the life of me I cannot find info on the heads, can some one here give me the 411 on these heads???

Are they a good heads or junk. I googled and found nothing I even went to Dart cylinder heads website and they didn't have a peep about them

Thanks

Call Dart with the casting numbers on those heads and talk to there technical dept. I had to do that several years ago on a project that the customer had been acumilating the parts for years They are very helpful, they use to make cast heads for blown fuel and the other all out blown Hemi classes, not any more due to the billet heads in those classes now

The heads are on a naturally aspirated Hemi, 0 miles. The guy who has the engine had the heads when he built the bottom end and used these heads to finish it off.

I suggest you ask the owner if he has any info on the heads or if he has a flow sheet for them.If any good porter had his hands on them they should have something stamped in the aluminum.

it still means nothing. none of these heads were ever used as delivered or out of the box. there's a good chance no two sets would ever be alike.nearly every builder had there own porter doing his own special tricks. Some of tghese heads were done before there weree flow benches and by today's standards totally junk

Okay Fred, As of now I have nothing I will ask him to pull off the heads and see if there are any stampings.....I'll see If He has any more heads laying around....

If by chance the heads are virgin, would a good port job on them help or should I look for another set of heads??

I talked to the owner of the hemi.... The heads only have a gasket match on them. The heads were only used as a set of test heads and ran once and shelved.

We have a set of Dart heads on my dads superstock motor. made awesome power and flow numbers. All depends on what was done to them, but they can be very good heads.
