They had a blurb about it on Powerblock TV. To me I think you should straighten the panels before you glob on a cheap fix.

The stuff I saw in the mag long ago was hekler /slpice {yes I know that not the name but was something close }and a german or some thing company. The deal was no pin holes and east application of it so spray on a coat or 2 and block So say ya butt weld a new quater on and spray some on the welds and black then spray some on the whole thing and block. Looked like a good system New fiber glass hood with waves sand it spray on some filler and block. Just looked like if it worked like thay said it would be a great product. I thought 71TA used some on his TA Hood now that I am thing about it

Know a panel beater in Oz who has used it a few times...sprayed over the car after the metal work was done for a final block back...the one of them I saw he did came out awesome.
What Brand was it? I thought it was poly based so you could sray on some like you said he used it,then after blocked out spray on a poly based primer like Evercoat slick sand and block again with finer paper. Just looked like it was a good plan

Kevin, I may be wrong, but I think what your refereing too, is basically "skim coating" the car, sometimes still a common practice, even in "high end" shops, covering the car in bondo and blocking it out,....I don't follow, nor recommend that particular practice, if your looking for miracles on botch metalwork, it ain't going to happen, but if your looking for a substrat to build, metal or fiberglass, without laying down 4-5 coat of high build priner, and blocking each,......Evercoat G2 polyester sprayfiller, comes in black, gray, or tan,....I've used it many times in restorations, only spray one heavy somewhat wet coat, do not recoat, you can apply it over steel, but I would recommend an etch primer, like Dupont Variprime after you've finished major bodywork, on either raw steel, or fiberglass, before putting down a coat of G2,....I'd recommend you buy the qt. sizes, easier to mix, once mixed, pot life is about 20 mins, before it hardens, so clean out your gun immediately with acetone, after spraying each qt......if you go the qt. route, it's 1 to 1 mix, 1 qt. to 1 tube of MEK supplied, let the stuff take a set as long as possible, I'd recommend min 3 days, if you can bake the car, even in the sun, block it like you would bondo, nothing finer than 80 grit, keep it fresh, crosshatch cuts, then coat with , I prefere Duponts Y2 Chroma base primer surfacer,......leave any Nason products for the "other" guys,........nice product if applied correctly, I've used it over the epoxy seals, at customers request, and it's fine, but I'm not a fan of the epoxy seal coats, as they are a surface membrane, and not a true etchant that will penetrate the metal, or plastic surface microscopically.....Kev. if you can't find it locally, try Eastwood.com they have it I like using it, esp for black cars,

There's a guy in our car club that had a 71 cuda vert done by a shop that used some thick filler primer in the late 80's early 90's. 15 or so years later the hood was paint cracked like crazy. The putty knifed off a 5 gallon bucket full of that stuff.
Maybe materials have changed. Or maybe we'll have to wait 15 years to find out
That was proberly the original "featherfill",....I used that once back in the early 80's stuff went on like stucco, and sanded like iron!........horrible!, The Evercoat G2 acts more like a heavy primer/surfacer coat,...I'd only recommend 1 coat, then blockl with 80 grit, and coat with a good quality primer surfacer

Is the G2 better than slick sand or feather fill? I normaly like ti stick with all poly based products instead of uro and poly I have a full can gallon or .7 of a gallon some stuff is not a gallon of Z-grip{evercoat} was just look at options saw the spray on stuff in some mag. and look easyer for some applicatons.

Kevin, The G2 is a reformulation of the original FeatherFill, which was horrible,.....I've done several projects, and a few customers cars using the G2,in the last several years.......haven't had any issuses with compatability,.....but I usually stick with the Dupont line of Chroma based products, primers and BC/CC's,....Evercoat prouducts like their Eurosoft and glazing pastes, have always worked together with no problems in the past on finished work,.....the G2 IMHO has showed itself to be a quality product,........I do a lot of painting on a monthly basis/ as well as body work, either on my projects, or customers,......so I'm using product and seeing their results on a current basis, not a random, or drawn out restoration, or process
