Last time out in June no issues , I pull the car out today to check things over for a bracket event tommorow and not charging.
I take alt down to the shop , the diode trio is puked, they fix me up and I'm out the door in about 30 min they said it'll go again .
I'm only zingin this about 6200 through the lights and I'm using a small March drive pulley.
I thought stepping up to the P Master would end this but I guess not.
Any ideas or should I carry a spare.

And what was their reason that it will fail again,
sure isnt the revs

i have been told starting one on low batteries is hard on the diodes. when the alt has to charge real hard.

What gauge size is your output wire, what type of alternator is it , and where is your battery located?

I believe it's 10 ga. wire to alt, GM 1 wire alt and 2 Optimas in trunk

Alt's produce AC power... the diode bridge is there
to convert the AC into DC power(3 + diodes and 3 - diodes)

Have you calc'd what rpm that small crank pulley is causing the alt to turn? I doubt thats the problem though.....I run the same alt on the street and strip...no problems here.

I'd say 10 gage is way too small...especially when running all the way back to the truck. I still run my battery up front and I run 1/0 gauge wire...it's overkill, but that's what I would run if running it to the trunk too.

I would also support it in the rear, why because mine broke the case right in the front, didnt like the 6800 rpm
