hi all, I dont usually post here but this is something you race folks may be able to help me with: I just bought a 68 roadrunner and it came with a mountain of parts some very odd things and alot of race parts...alot of direct connection stuff and two 727 torque flites. One is the orig to the car the other is a highly moddified trans, the bell has been cut off...luckily it came with a brand new lakewood blow shield...but here is where it gets weird! there is an input shaft and relese bearing like a std trans...and no provision for a torque converter. the front pump has a b&m part number on it cf 101 a! Does anyone know what this is? I had mopar tech guru moper over and hes never seen anything like it, ill attach a pic! Keep in mind this car was getting put together ion the late 70s eraly 80s so who knows...but its got a ton of treasure with it...thanks for any info

In days of yore, it was the original Lenco, or "poor man's Lenco".

It's called a Cluth-flite.

They were quite pricey in the day but with the high stall
converters the clutch-flite went by the way side... some
guys would by it for their old school set ups so its
not a paper weight.... I bought one of them way back when

I cant see the back of the trans in the picture, does it have a stock style tailshaft or does it have the B&M short tailshaft?
and I agree someone probably would like to have one for nostalgia racecar or display Ron...

I did mention the clutchflite.. But I'd never seen one. I thought they would be an iron case, old type trans... this was a normal B torqflite they chopped the bell off. Weird..

Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

definetely a clutchflite, the problem with them is that most of the early valve bodies were non low band apply. To make them safe you have to spend mega bucks, and they are still questionable at best. I just bought one for 350 and put 2500 in it trying to make it safe. Mike
