I've put my hand out the window over 100mph, but i wonder if you could dislocate your shoulder at that speed

Today's silly schedule:

Up at 4:30
Travel to South El Monte, start workday at 6:20
Depart S.E.M. at 14:05
In slow & go traffic, approach south I-5 to east SR-78 interchange at 15:30

15:30:10 engine dies doing 45mph in left lane at the start of two lane uphill 270 degree sweeping right transition ramp
15:30:12 evetS kicks car into neutral, hits starter, hears sound of compressionless [timing belt-less] engine
15:30:14 signal right, shoot small gap, coast to right shoulder (which people routinely drive in as they cut the corner) and use last bit of momentum to hop the asphalt berm into the ice plant
15:30:20 dial *AAA on cell phone
15:31:00 after 40 seconds of hold message, get connected to human being
15:33 finish giving particulars and precarious location of dead car, receive ETA estimate of 20 minutes
15:36 receive automated callback confirming tow truck is on the way with ETA of 15:55
15:45 tow truck arrives, driver does temporary hookup, almost gets nailed twice by semis cutting the corner of the curve
15:50 tow truck and car make it off transition ramp to safer location at the side of SR-78, push paper, strap car down
16:10 arrive home, pay small mileage overage + tip, listen to 10 minutes of driver's personal stories
16:20 enter home, unwind, relate story to wife and teenagers, concentrating on object lesson of quick diagnosis and maximizing momentum to get car out of traffic lanes to less dangerous location
16:45 dinner
17:30 confirm broken timing belt, gather tools and spare belt from inventory, install timing belt
18:30 put away tools, clean up, take test drive to gas station, fill up
19:00 return home, unload car (paperwork, laptop, ice chest)
19:15 post story

Down to just a blue car now.

But seriously, everyone else's car is better kept around here, while the Cobbler's car goes shoeless.
