The Smiter;
On a warm summer's evenin' on a thread bound for nowhere
I met up with the smiter, we were both too tired to sleep
So we took turns a postin' on Moparts
'Til boredom overtook us and he began to speak
He said, "Barry, I've made a life, out of smiting' Oz' hide
And knowin' what his weak spots were by poking out his eyes

For a taste of your whiskey I'll give you some advice"
So I handed him my bottle and he drank down my last swallow
Then he bummed a bag of Tostitos and asked me for some salsa
And the night got deathly quiet and his face lost all expression
Said, "If you're gonna play the smite game, boy, you gotta learn to play it right"
You got to know when to smite 'em, know when to fold 'em
Know when to blow-away and know when to pun
You never count the freckles while the explosion is unstable
There'll be time enough for countin' when the deal is done
Every smiter knows that the secret to smitin'
Is knowin' what to throw away and knowing what to keep

And the best that you can hope for is spiders in your sleep

And somewhere in the darkness the smiter, he broke wind
But in his final words I found an ace that I could keep
