Busy day today. Got up at the crack of dawn and took my daughter to Bijij island snorkeling and to watch the launch of... We then took a bike tour of Kwajalein Island. After that it was trying to clean up after last night's cookout party for her. *Whew*

..How long does it take to have a bike tour of the island by the way?
It depends on how many sights you stop to see. I'd say that ours took a couple of hours. You start at the north end of the island and ride to downtown, from there it's a pass by the airport and around the east end of the runway. On the south side of Kwajalein you get to see the golf country club, the archaeologist's office, and the RTS weather station. You cross the west side of the runway and on that side of the island you get to see where, after the Battle of Kwajelein (which incidentally was 76 years ago today) they bulldozed the rubble into the ocean. There is still a lot of stuff to see; tank tracks, steam engine boilers, etc. Also on that side is the pet cemetery which is pretty creepy. You ride then along the north end of the runway and see the botanical gardens, coral sands beach, and Camp Hamilton. From there it's by the boat houses and the marina to Emon Beach. Then you're back to north point where we started. She seemed to like it but it wore us both out. She took lots of pics so I'll try to get the pics from her.

Here is a pic of my youngest son snorkeling. He has an underwater camera and is attempting to photograph something on one of the coral heads...
