Evidently. Some drinks have layers, one layer lighter than another, so the layers float with the denser liquid on the bottom. For the soylent example, it wood appear that the bitter layer floats on the mellow layer. If sipped through a straw, such a drink would start out sweet with a bitter finish. Kind of a liquid smite I suppose.
