I have a 68, is the hood you speak of close enough to modify? Thx, C
I'm 55 now, no time to waste. Not a week goes by that I don't hear about someone passing on.Let's get out there, smoke some tires, have a beer with a good friend,do what you have always wanted to do.I am pretty sure no one will ever say on their deathbed "gee I'm glad my life was calm and boring"

Get the matching hood hinges with the Dart hood. On the 69 Barracuda, the hood has a sliding plate which holds the nuts for the hood bolts. The hinges have simple round drilled holes for the hood bolts and when you move the hood around to adjust it, you are sliding the nut plate around inside the hood.
On the later hoods the hood has fixed nuts welded into the hood. The hinges have large squarish shaped holes and when you adjust the hood you are moving the bolts around in the hinge holes.
If you get the later Dart hood and use the 69 Barracuda hinges, the hood will only mount in one position and will not be adjustable.

69 Barracuda and later Dart hoods are the same.
68 is completely different and the hood won't match up to the header.
Modification for a 68 doesn't even qualify as major surgery; it would be worse than that.

67 and 68 are basically the same. There are minor differences, such as 67 has Barracuda in large letters spread across the entire width of the hood, while the 68 uses a Barracuda emblem on the driver's side about 8", or so, long.
All models, fastback, notchback, convertible, use the same hood.

The actual hood to a 68 Formula S is not special. Just the pot metal 340-S or 383-S inserts. So if your hood has a little rust, remove the inserts and cut away for a 6 pack scoop. Any 67 or 68 Barracuda hood will replace it.

No. The 67 has "Plymouth" spelled out across the header, whereas 68s have the small 1-piece PLYMOUTH emblem above the drivers side grill
Doh! You're right. I should have known better, I was sanding my header panel just last weekend.
