I have a GM pump on my car that pulls about 5". IIRC the original application was Camaro/Firebird. It's a bit noisy, sounds like a vacuum cleaner, but works fine. Works off Ign run side with a relay. I don't think I have more than $75 in the whole system including puke tank. I put a fitting in one valve cover to check it with a gauge. Probably weighs about 5 lbs for everything.

Lots of guys that run at local tracks around here run these but. Like Fred said there only used to keep moisture out of the oil on alky motors.

They do work OK if your only using them to pull mositure out of an alky motor after a run.

they don't even work well for that, especially if you run injection. My buddy put one on and took it off the following weekend.

we have been running the same one for maybe a year. it's a gm version, but a ford is the same. it works well, but if you want to pull 8" of vac. it won't do it.
