281/288 cam, 112 lobe center. I have it idle around 1200, it would idle lower but no need to.

I have idled my 518 at or under 900 RPM in gear with the Mopar brand roller lifters for over three years of street and strip racing, after breaking two of them(the wheels ) and calling Engle, (I thought the Mopar brand where being made by Engle) NOT. Mark Engle said to not let any non pressurized roller lifter idle less than 1300 RPM in gear and have it idle closer to 1500 rpm to ensure adequate splash oiling to the needles in the roller wheels It kind of makes sense I wil probally follow those guidelines from now on
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

~ 1,800 - 1,900 for me. Any less and it wants to shut off.
Somethings wrong. My tunnel ram setup ran 9's in the 1/4 and would idle at 900-1000 all day.

I just fired the new engine this week (383 + .030, 4.25 stroke, Engle roller - 262 @ .050, 1.6 Harland Sharps, Herbert lifters and Herbert HERS637 springs).
Have idle set at 1200 due to people here and on speedtalk.com recommending higher idle to keep lifters' rollers lubed.
I could probably set the idle down to around 900 or so, but the convertor allows smooth engagement into gear at the present speed, and I don't want to 'learn something the hard (money) way'.
Right now I have to put smaller restricters in the heads, since the HS rockers allow all the oil to FLY out the rocker shafts...
Will be checking rollers periodically for a while to make sure they're hanging in there.
.02 and a bump...
