They were compressed 1" with the shock at free length.

I looked up the part number on the shocks and bought
the recommended 12" spring. It's all new and hasn't
been run yet.

looking at your pic it looks like you have more than an inch of squeeze on your springs. on a post on here earlier i think it was chassisman suggested that the springs only be compressed 1". how well are your rear suspension working with your springs compressed that much as you have? surely your extention must be somewhat limited?

Pics can be deceiving, my 12" springs are compressed one inch with shocks fully extended and they look the same way on the car.

STRANGE HYPERCOIL 170# spring

170#s, what the heck you holding up a house?

a heavy early b body. i guess a 1.28 60 foot footbraking isnt working too good with a #170 lb spring.

Q A1 single adj shocks and IIRC their 120# springs. 4 link rear and 2820 car weight.

Now I'm really starting to think I want the springs MEGADART has though. Can't qiut place why

Bill, 90% of the cars here will work fine with qa1 stuff. I tested 4 sets of qa1, 1 set of afco and finally the Eibach. Eibach was the best spring by FAR, and were only a few dollars more...

I have Jerry Bickel on my new car and when I can find out what weight they are will replace with Eibach...

What was better about them? Did you put them on a spring rater them out of the box to check how close they were to advertised. Some brands are more off than others. Some lose there rate faster especially if they are "lightweight" versions with reduced amount of coils.
