you losing foward motion when the wheels are in the air , looks to me you have an adequate wheelstand. I surely wouldn't want anymore. Nice ride !

How is the weight bias on your car now? We took around 80 off the front of mine last year and got my car to 51/49. It helped the launch in my opinion, just not night and day different. It will depend on the weight bias though.
Are you leaving off a brake? What RPM? I really like the launch pic. What was the 60ft? I am still footbraking mine.

Looks like you left early .... it could really hurt you to take it off the front(most likely its gonna go higher)

YEA, Thats looks like a Early leave.....Great pic of your car though..i am almost done building my new car and am worried about the same problem..i took a car and backhalfed it,12 point cage(MS)put a MF tublar K-member on it, then turned around and used a Indy Maxx alum block for my build..I am worried i may have just built a Wheelie Monster....the cars wheel base was 111" but now is 113, i know thats 2" is not alot but hoping it will help some..i would love to beable to run my car without wheelie bars, but if i need them ok..i would be interested in what balance of weight is ideal ?? 50/50,, 45/55...55/45 ??????

There is no cut and dried answer, weight bias, torque, trans gearing, wheel base, tire size, location of your engine and height of it. I'm at 52% on the rear with me in it but on a 97" wheel base BUT my issue is the height of my engine... it sets up high and back... it was perfect for my old engine but since then I build this one with another 100 hp and more torque

Depends on the track too. I've run a few NMCA events at Memphis and that starting line has TEETH. Same for Rt. 66 in Chicago.
If you take the same car to a few other tracks I know of, you will hardly lift the wheels at all.

How much will taking 100 pounds off of the front affect my launch? Will it be noticeable, I like the way it leaves now. Tell me what you guys think that launch up in the air.
If you could get you Pontiac to leave like the Coronet in the other lane you would have something!!!

I lost about 45 lbs off the front with BondoBob's K Frame, motor ears, drag link,,,etc,,change,,,,and got alot more clearance under the hood............. Nice car,,,,looks great.........love the pics of your car. and that wheel stand is with a 1.42 60' on Caltracs.... NICE......... I have had a best of 1.40,,and a typical of 1.43,,,but NO wheelstands like that. ... I think the front on mine is a bit "tight" still....... Congrats........ K frame work...... 1.40 60' launch,,,,,,not much air

Well I ordered the VFN fiberglass bumpers and hood. Hopefully that will take off 100 or so pounds. Maybe I can run less fuel in the tank combined with a lighter rear bumper to offset the front weight loss.

Nice looking car & k frame. I wish my car was that clean underneath! You might try the CAP dynamic strut bars and Calvert 90/10's. They make the front end a LOT looser
