hey everyone got another is well 2 of them actually and just starting out so dont know alot. first issue once in a while my car smokes black and wont idle it will run when on the throttle but smokes black and runs like crap. any help would be appreciated with that issue and the next issue is i was having alternator wiring issues i got a diagram from here and wired it exactly like the diagram but the car wont start with it all wired if i unhook the wires on the ballast resistor it will start anyone know what this could be thank so much i hope i can get this figured out

Black smole @ idle is too much fuel or not enough air , need more info on carb

ok the carb is a holley 600 double pumper but i noticed tonight that the carb is flooding with fuel so i know it is too much fuel just dont know why im gettting that much all of a sudden. any tips for me on that one. thank you i appreciate it.

float level, dirt in needle and seat's, hole in float are some of the more common reason's,,sound's like you need to pull it apart and thouroughly go thru it.

Check the basics , float level, needle & seat , fuel pressure, if its all in spec could be a blown power valve or bad gasket
