bought a new derale tranny pan from summit, claimes cooler fluid additional 3qts.w/cooling tubes, anyway i think it is more then 3qts,since it is 3 times deeper then original,my question is with a deeper pan(summit claims no added deeper filter pick up needed)would i still go by the tranny dipstick? if it is saying add? tranny is all newly rebuilt. am i right in thinking full level is full?regardless of how deep pan is? thank you for any input Darren

Full is full... A little deeper on the pickup would be good but the tubes being there limit how far you can go...

Quite frankly ... I would use a pan that has more capacity and just add a cooler into the line.

IMO .. that tube-pan is nothing but a gimmick.

darren you should add a filter extension , CRT has them but you need to make some measurements to see what you need, I run my ram without one only because I needed a custom one that was not available in the depth I needed , ended up buying one from CRT and modifying it .

I ran that pan for 12 years on my bee with no extension and the tranny never over heated,it works good.Just hard to clean around them tubes when you rebuild or change fluid. The tubes do catch air cause it is deeper than stock.I think the tubes would be in thew way for deeper pick up also.......
