340mouse OP enthusiast Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 275 Oakwood Ont Canada	How do you check a battery with a multi meter, I put a new battery in my tractor and had to boost it to start it, then my daughter needed a battery so I put that battery from the tractor in her car and it needs to be boosted to start most times, this is a new battery, could it be defective. Crizila master Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 7,506 Az	Assume it is sealed so you can't hydrometer test it. Load test is the only way. You can check the state of charge - fully charged 12 vlt batt should read 13.2 volts and should not drop below 9.6 volts during cranking. Fastest 300
