Got my t-quad rebuild and looking for any mods that can be done to the stock 71 intake, plan on gasket matching about an 1" in, maybe smoothing and contouring right under the carb, any other tricks i can do? maybe a F.A.S.T. racer can help out. This is on a 12'0s demon that i want to make stock looking so the Torker II, and 750dp are going!

All I did with mine was gasket match the ports and blend into the runner, then I cut the divider down so only about .200" was remaining.

I also cut away the heat crossover underneath to save weight and installed a tin heat shield on the bottom to keep hot oil from splashing on the underside.

This was a 72 intake but you get the picture.

when i received my 340 it had the same mods as cjk440s' but it had also been extrude honed. it's soooo smooth on the inside it looks real cool. shame i never used it as i went with a LD3B since it was alloy & lighter.

I don't have any pics but its basically just as I described.

I think the factory small block intakes are pretty good except they weigh a ton.
