I can get one for 175 used. I was thinking of ordering a 650 new but this is so much cheaper that it might be worth it.

I'm afraid it might be too big for a stock 383 HP, HSD intake, headers, 4 speed 3.23 rear.

Might be better to buy Helicoil kit and fix the 750 OEM AVS I have with a stripped out idle mixture screw.

I want my fair share

?? my buddy had one on his 383 auto car. Much like yours. He had a summitt 488 cam, M1 intake, headers 165k stall and 3.55's car ran great, 14.20 on radials and him driving like grandma. Car had much more in it.

I think the air door adjustment will let it work OK WOT but I really just cruise around so I'm more concerned about throttle response/low end.

it's probably a little too much carb , if you pass on it though

I did see one at carlisle for 300 , but it was a 650 or I would have scooped it up ..

I can get a new 650 AVS for 313 shipped. 175 is appealing though. I could grab it and trade for a 650 later I suppose if needed.

I think I will see what a Helicoil will cost for my 750 AVS.

I don't think it is too much carb for a 383. The air door only opens as needed so really it acts like a 2 bbl carb until you really get the engine wound up.

It will adjust the CFM per engine demand just like a Thermoquad.

The 800 will be fine on your 383. Mopar BB like fuel. Its a vacum secondary so it will only dump as much fuel as the motor is asking for. You may just need to calibrate it for your motor

I've got one on my 65 383, it flat loves it. Took me two tries to get the springs right, but that's all I messed with other than setting idle speed. No issues at all so far. The engine is basically stock with the HP cam, 4 speed behind it and 3.23 gears in a 4500 lb car.
