Have a 440-3 with 1050 dominator. 440-2 with 2" adapter will not clear my scoop. I know changing scoop is an option but thinking of trying 440-2 with 1050, 4150 series with 1/2" spacer. Anyone try this?

i have a 1025 4150 carb on a 400-2 manifold. works great on my combo. i did have a 1050 4150 carb but was too hard to tune. the extra 0.040 of venturie was what my combo needed to work well. with the 1050 carb our jetting was 97 & 98's. almost out of the jet range. the 1025 carb's jets are 90 & 92's.
