Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? I would say to try it, and if the gauge starts to fall then get out of it.

We ran a 6-71 blower with about 5 lbs of boost with a stock mechanical fuel pump, and the fuel pressure would start to fall off a little after half track.

I guess the big question is, are you willing to risk your motor? At the minimum I would find some way to monitor fuel pressure.
