I have just ordered a Quicktime (#RM-6077) to match a T56 Magnum six-speed to my 526 Hemi block.

Has anyone else done this conversion before...? are the Quicktime bellhousings of a good quality..? Any issues I should be aware of ..?

It's going into my 68 Charger.. any anticipated issues with trans tunnel clearance (I expect the tunnel will have to be modified). I will also be using a hydraulic clutch setup.

It seems there is a very limited choice of bellhousings for this six-speed combo.

All and any feedback & ideas & experiences will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks a million!

I was planning to buy one myself (Hemi - super T10). You'll never know unless you buy one.......

I'll let you know how it works out..
It would seem that very few people have used one!

I use the QT bell w/jerico. You should have plenty of tunnel clearance (bell) since I believe they use the same bell just weld on different adaptor plates (not certain). Don't know about T56. The QT limits you to a 130 tooth flywheel which should be no problem.(I run a 10") If using stock linkage (or external slave) pay close attention to the pivot that is supplied. It does not locate the fork/TOB properly. There is no pocket to locate the nose of the starter but I've had no probs.
Sounds like a cool project. Have fun

Thanks Greg, appreciate it.

I will run an internal hydraulic throwout bearing so it should be ok in that regard (I hope!).

With the flywheels... what are the options?
10", 10.5", 11"?... how many teeth on each..?

thanks again
Darren

Hi Darren,
The only flywheel that will likely fit is the 130 tooth that will allow you to use a 10.5" or 10.95" clutch. I use the 10" long style clutch for adjustability (pressure & counterweight). If mainly street driving you might look at centerforce or McLeod. If street/strip you might check with Tim Hyatt (you can find his details on www.umtrnorth.com). Hope this helps

The QT bell is small but expect MAJOR hump and torsion bar crossmember mods to fit the large T56 trans in place.
