1.48 60ft

Picked up stage vi that flow

I HAD stage VI heads ...had a torkerII intake with a Holley 1050..engine was a 448 RB..had a .557 cam..at 3300lbs the best the duster ran was 9.95 w/4.56 and 31" tires..

I brought the weight down under 2600lbs and changed the intake to the M1...made more power according to the chassis dyno and not pushing went 9.53..

I had read about different intakes at the time..the best being the edlebrock Victor and the M1 very close to within 5hp to each other..

Used a edlebrock Victor when i had my 452ci Stage six engine years back. Seemed to work every well.. The guy who has the engine now is still happy with it!

I used that intake on a 440 12.5:1 .590 purple cam stage VI 950 HP and it made 632 HP on engine dyno. I am not using that combo or intake now. PM me if interested in buying it. Don

OOTB (Out Of The Box), the 4150 Stage VI RB intake does NOT work well. I won't go into details, but will tell you that it took a lot of work by an experienced intake porter to bring the one I had around. HOWEVER... even "fixed", it would still not be the right intake for what you've described, because it has Max Wedged-sized runner entries from the plenum and gives up a lot of torque below the peak as a trade-off for high rpm HP.

The biggest drawback I see to your combination is the limited stall (3500 flash?) converter you listed. If that's the converter you're sticking with, then use something like an MP M1 intake on RB spacers and a cam in the low-to-mid 250s at .050" on 108 LSA to keep the torque up. If you stepped up to something around 5000 stall, you could run something in the mid-260s.

I still like a Holley "950 HP" (not really 950 cfm, though), for a good performing carb on something like this. There are other options, but mine worked pretty well OOTB and didn't require too much tuning from there.

The heads came with the intake spacers.
do you use these with the victor intake??

that was the first intake I was looking at

I was also looking at a 850 carb but appears a
950 may be better

the converter is an old Hemi "j" converter.
its a break apart that can be easily adjusted.

Thanks for all the gret info.

On a B block you can use a RB intake, no spacer. On your RB Block use a RB intake and you have to use the spacers....Matt

The spacers end up giving you a compound entry angle that is not conducive to good flow OOTB either! If you look at the angle that the floor of the head meets the floor of the spacer you will see what I mean.
Plus it will leave stains that appear to me is caused by liquid fuel dropping out of the fast flow when it hits that "ramp"
I used the Stage VI/ M1 intake which I know worked well on the dyno. It does have some porting done to it, clean up and match porting. Don

Mine worked well on my 496 stage 6 street combo, it was a 4150 flange with minor work done in the plenum. Ran 99 mph in the 1/8th in a fully loaded 4000+lb 71 charger .

Mines a bracket car. Dwayne ported the heads and it picked up nicely. I run a RB block and used to run the 4150 RB M1 and spacers using an 850 carb. I changed over to the RB M1 Stage VI specific 4500 intake and a ebay 4500 Carb Shop dominator. Picked up .4 and nearly 5mph. I did have the intake runners match ported quite a ways up the runners. I do not run max wedge ports, but they have been slightly enlarged over out of the box.
