Absolutely 100% untrue. Gear sets are exactly the same.
Both are 2.45 1st, 1.45 2nd, 1.00 3rd, and .069 OD.
Depending on the year it will either be a hydraulic shift valve body, or an electronic shift vavle body.
If it's a 47RH (hydraulic), the governer set shift points will be different between the two.
If it's a 47RE (electronic), the computer will control the shift point.
Also, the two use a different converter for different stall speeds.
