Butch, I think you can get a small jar of Kendall lube from your local Car Quest. I used this in all sure grips I performed services on in the shop. Smells really badly and we actually called it Whale Sperm don't know who come up with that.

Most sure grip mfg's ( Auburn for sure ) do not recommend using synthetics. I use 80-90 gear lube and about 1/2 the recommended amount of friction modifier.

THe Ford Friction modifier is hard to beat. ITs the same formula as that of the good ol 'days.
Mix it with any GL-5 gear lube you like.

GL-5 can be either. The -5 refers for an extreme pressure specification that rears need (the amount of pressure, per square inch on the contact patch of the pinion/ring, under load, is tremendous)

MOST all gear lube IS GL-5, the difficulty is finding a good selection of GL-4 for our manual trannys (the selection is few). Not a problem for diffs~
