Anyone know where to get .010 under T-chain for a 440? Preferably with a 9 way crank gear.
PSO headed 632 from MM. Cracked cylinder, loose valve seats, low oil pressure, low cylinder pressure. ..... Now its a door stop....

I know that this sounds dumb, but is there an easy way to tell which (.005 or .010) reduced distance is needed? The new stock length chain is way loose and I know that the engine was line bored but no longer have the paperwork.

Not an expert on this but if you line BORE (not hone) the mains on your block because you have missmatched main caps or new main caps, the boring changes where the center line of the crank rides in relation to your deck height. Therefore the distance between the center line of you crank is closer to the center line of you cam, therefore a standard length timing chain will be loose. That's muy understanding Frank

Is the chain shorter or are the gears larger in diameter?
Gears larger, chain stock is standardized AFAIK.

Cloyes has the center distance spec. listed in their catalogue. Measure across the crank and cam noses (or between them) and do the math.
