is it a lot of trouble to fit a 440 in a 68 Barracuda?

A fair amount which will be all but forgotten the 1st time you jump on it. Biggest obstacle is your exhaust choice. Probably $tti$

Thanks for the info. I am a first timer with wanting to do an engine swap so I don't know which would be a better choice or a not too difficult choice. 440 or try to find a 383. This car is a 318 so it needs a lil something. Thanks again.

One of the B engine strokers (400 based engines) will give you a bit more room. worked out better in my early A body.

There are different fitment issues with a "B" block and an "RB", but both fit reasonably well and can be made to run really well. Spend some time in the tech pages at www.bigblockdart.com.
