I'm looking at a 70 Cuda with a 9 inch rear end and don't know a thing about this rear end in a Mopar. Any insight on this application? 528 Hemi with Keisler Transmission, Alterkation front end. . . . . Is this a good combination? Pros/Cons?

Thanks!

The Ford 9" is a pretty bullitproof rear end but I don't like Ford parts in Mopars. The 71 "GTX" built on TV a few years ago had a 9" under it too.

Stock ford 9" rear axles are not indestructable like people think they are. No big deal if it's already there, and if it breaks just put a Dana 60 in instead.

many gear ratios available for it. No side play adjustment, the axles just bolt in like an 8&1/4 & has 4&1/2 bolt pattern. Nothing special nothing complicated, Go ahead & run it. Sounds like is is a turn key & with that much eng they may have beefed it up some

The larger 31 spline axles are pretty hefty..

find out more about the 9 inch given the info. you just gave my guess is that it is an aftermarket piece but you never know.

A stock 9 inch is not that stroung imo but if it has all the aftermarket goodies in axles case etc.. then all should be well

Very true, but it's also a 528 with a manual trans. I guess it depends on how much traction the car has and how it's going to be used - race or street.

We have a 70 Cuda convertible with an all-aluminum 528 Hemi and Viper 6-speed running a Ferd 9" with no problems. The 9" is a bit lighter and almost as strong as a 60, so I wouldn't worry if I were you.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but I'd almost be more concerned that the Kiesler would give up before the 9"
