Guys!
I just pulled my 340 in order to replace the rear seal. And the question came up, should I inspect and/or re-torque all of the mains (or just the rear main)?
Or "if it ain't broke", "don't fix it"...
Anyone?
Thanks!

With the eng being out yes pull the caps & eyeball the bearings. A basic visual inspection uncovers alot of problems(or in this case will let you sleep better at night knowing that everything is fine)

Fresh motor? High mileage? Noisy? If the rear main seal leak is your only problem, fix it and go.

If there was a problem due to torque you would have seen it already. I'm a big fan of not disturbing things that dont need it so I'd just leave well enough alone and fix the seal.
Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.
